Wynema Brown, 83, Hobart, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014, in Lawton, OK. She was born on June 17, 1931, to Parker and Jeanette Brace in Carnegie, OK. She went to Carnegie Public Schools graduating in 1949. Wynema received a Bachelors Degree at Southeastern State University in Durant, OK. She married Herbert Brown in May, 1957, in Albuquerque, NM. Wynema was an elementary teacher for numerous schools until moving to Hobart in 1982. She was a Case Manager for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections in Granite, OK, in 1982 , retiring in 1994. Wynema was a member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, formerly serving on Kiowa Business Committee for several years, and a member of Rainy Mountain Kiowa Indian Baptist Church. She was a member of NCAI formerly serving Southern Plains Regional Vice-President.

Burial will follow in the Samone Cemetery, west of Carnegie, OK, under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart.
