Wilma Oneta Williams

February 16, 1927 — March 31, 2020

Wilma Oneta Williams, 93 years old, passed away 03/31/2020. She was born February 16, 1927 to Ivan Steve Chandler and Sarah Lucinda Lillian Chandler. She married Truman Williams on January 22, 1947 in Pauls Valley, OK.
Oneta was raised on a farm east of Lindsay and attended school at Hughes until the 7th grade. Her family moved to Sea Chapel west of Lindsay, OK were she went to school till the 8th year. She attended Lindsay High School. The family moved back to the Hughes community where she graduated in 1945. After graduating she moved to Oklahoma City, OK with her friend Berniece Farrow. They went to work for Nabisco Company on East Reno. She worked six months there, then went to work at F. W. Woolworth in downtown OKC. She worked there until 1950 then worked at Traub Elementary school for 3 years. She and Truman moved to Anadarko, OK in February of 1963. In 1965 she went to work at Gold Kist Peanuts as office manager and retired in 1991.
Remembered most by her family was her fried chicken and chocolate pie. Very active in The Band Boosters when Jerry was in school. Very active helping with Rainbow Girls during Shelly's membership. Always encouraging to Kids and grandchildren to enjoy life and its blessings. Loved planting flowers and cooking for the family. She was a member of the Delphian Club of Anadarko, OK. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Anadarko, OK. She loved singing hymns from the Baptist Hymnal as her mom played the piano growing up and continued singing hymns as she worked around the house.
