William "Bill" Turner of Darby, Pennsylvania passed away on July 23, 2020 at the age of 78 after a prolonged illness. Formerly of Altus, Oklahoma, MSgt Turner was preceded in death by his much loved wife of 43 years Clara Jo Turner (nee Humphreys) of Anadarko, his daughter Teresa, his parents Oscar and Ellen Turner, and his sister Barbara Johnson. He is survived by his son Kenneth W Turner, daughter Karen Moore (Chris). Brother Raymond Turner (Lori), grandchildren Sarah Moore, Nicholas Moore (Melissa), Jonathan Moore, and Christina Franklin (Matthew), and great grandchildren Annabelle, Declan, Gabriel and Elijah. He is also Survived by several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
MSgt Turner dedicated his early adult years serving his nation in the United States Air Force for 26 years with assignments taking him to many bases around the country and the world including Vietnam and Altus AFB, Oklahoma before retiring from the service at Offutt AFB in Bellevue, Nebraska where he served as a highly respected senior NCO on an inspection team that ensured our nations flight simulators that trained pilots in the Strategic Air Command where always ready to go during the Cold War. In the 1990's he and his wife moved to Darby, Pennsylvania were he owned and operated a civilian flight simulator production and maintenance company, was active in historical preservation and was well known around town for his honesty and steadfast work ethic. Turner was very dedicated to making sure his family was always safe and taken care of. He is greatly missed by his family and friends.
A graveside service with military honors will be held in Anadarko on 16 September 2020 at 10:30 am.
