William Dunford

William (Bill) Wayne Dunford, 78, of Norman, OK, passed away on November 7, 2015, in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born on November 20, 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Virgil William and Leta Mae (Armstrong) Dunford. Bill was raised in Norman, Oklahoma. He married Constance Laile Church on June 1, 1961 in Norman, Oklahoma, and she preceded him in death on July 27, 2009. Bill served his country in the Marine Corps from 1954-1958. After William graduated Medical School in Kansas City, Bill and Connie moved their family of 5 to Coweta, Oklahoma and shortly after became members of and served in their hometown First Baptist Church and Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church. Bill served as Coweta's only physician for many years. After their 3 children were grown and on their own, Bill and Connie moved to Miller Neighborhood in Oklahoma City where Bill pastored the Westlawn Baptist Church until he retired in 2011. Bill thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his 7 grandchildren for the past 21 years. His son Matt and his wife Kim of San Jose, California have 3 children, Angela, Sarah, and Jessica. His oldest daughter Hollie lives in Del City, Oklahoma with her children Brock and Kayla. His youngest daughter Amy and her husband Chris live in Whitehouse, Texas with their children Amber and Mark.


Bill is also survived by his 2 sisters: Betty Sorrels, Livingston, TX
Leta Marie Bennison, Lafayette, Indiana


Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Constance Dunford, brother Richard Dunford, sister Gloria Grinde.
