William Elmer Clanahan

Elmer Clanahan, 91, of Rocky, OK. passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012 in Brenham, TX. He was born December 23, 1920 in Rocky, OK to James Clark and Pearl Mae (Arnold) Clanahan. Elmer was working at Douglas Aircraft in Oklahoma City when he decided to join the U. S. Navy and was stationed in Saipan. He lived most of his life in Rocky and Hobart. He worked for Midwest Distributors 20 years. Elmer owned and operated Clanahan Shoe Shop from 1946 until 1993. He married Helen Haley on October 1, 1939 in Hobart, OK and she preceded him in death on May 26, 2007.

Survivors include a daughter, Susie Pickthorn and husband David, Oklahoma City, OK
a son, William H. "Bill" Clanahan and wife Mickey, Chappell Hill, TX
seven grandchildren: Michael Willingham, Douglas Willingham, Leigh Ann White, Delton Willingham
Brooke, Haley and Drew Clanahan
six great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Helen and seven brothers and sisters.
