William Gene Brooks

William "Bill" Brooks, 63, long time Hobart resident, passed away at the home of his sister after a lengthy illness, on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. He was born September 13, 1950, in Mangum, OK to Claude and Faye (Godfrey) Brooks. Bill has lived in Kiowa County since 1950 and attended Seismograph school through the Job Core. He remodeled every home he ever lived in and loved to work with wood.

Survivors include three sons:
Jack Brooks, Hobart, OK
Sheaun Ledbetter, Mountain View, OK
Christopher Ledbetter, Oklahoma City, OK

one daughter, Julie Lyman, Altus, OK
two grandsons, Jackie Ray Brooks Jr, and Justin Blake Brooks
one brother, Tom Brooks, Hobart, OK
two sisters, Carolyn Miller and husband Russell, Hobart, OK
Kathy Fulton and husband Dale, Hobart, OK
several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Charles Books, Jack Brooks, John Brooks, Joe Brooks and Jim Brooks.
