Wiley Wilson "Slim" Perkins, 91, of "Arrowhead Estates" in Canadian, Oklahoma (formerly of Carnegie, Oklahoma) died Monday, December 15, 2014 at Heritage Hills Nursing Center in McAlester, Oklahoma. Wiley was born March 11, 1923 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma the son of James Brooks and Dellar Melissa (Lawrence) Perkins. He married Ora Aftena Reagan on August 23, 1944 in Anadarko, Oklahoma and to this union four daughters were born. Early on, Wiley worked as a farm and ranch hand throughout Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas. He later worked in the construction trade as a concrete finisher on numerous bridge and highway projects throughout Oklahoma along with working at the Celanese Plant in Pampa and Borger Texas areas. Upon returning to Oklahoma and prior to his retirement he was employed by the "Roads and Roofs Division" at the University of Oklahoma. After his retirement he moved to rural Tecumseh, Okla. and on to "Arrowhead Estates" in Canadian, Okla.
Survivors include four daughters,
Darlene Holmes and husband, Larry of Pampa, Texas
La-Von Rogers and husband, Shelby of Zwolle, Louisiana;
Linda Heims and husband, James of "Arrowhead Estates" Canadian, OK
Willa Perkins of Mesa, Arizona.
10 grandchildren,
Joe Holmes, Bart Rogers, Sheila Niccum, Lesa Ball, Chris Heims, Jason Heims, Brandi Penny, Amber Miller, Skyler Miller and Storm Miller
15 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; five brothers: George "Buge", Tony, Monroe, Harley and Clinton; three sisters: Maudie Gandy, Oma Gandy and Mayburn Timmons and a great granddaughter, Brittanie Rogers.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Friday, December 19, 2014 at Ray and Martha's Funeral Home Chapel in Carnegie, Oklahoma.
Interment will follow at Carnegie Cemetery.
