Wilda A. Koomsa

November 13, 1942 — September 29, 2023

Wilda Ann Koomsa, 80, of Carnegie, OK passed away on September 29, 2023, at the Carnegie Tri County Hospital in Carnegie, OK. She was a member of the Kiowa Tribe; She was born to William Sr. & Henrietta (Satepauhoodle) Komesataddle on November 13, 1942, in Lawton, OK. Wilda attended Carnegie Public Schools and graduated in the class of 1960. She was the captain of the Lady Wildcat Basketball team her Junior & Senior year. After graduation she attended college at Chilocco Indian school where she mentored young ladies during her time there. Wilda worked for Carnegie Public Schools for 46 years as a Librarian and a teacher's aide. She enjoyed checking the students in at lunch time. She loved getting to know the students and they all started calling her 'grandma'. She also worked with the Indian heritage club and then started her own Mini Indian Club where they performed at numerous events and even attended competitions in Norman, OK. She loved playing hand game all over the county; she also loved teaching her greats about hand game and some Kiowa songs. She was a Philadelphia Eagles fan, and she also loved Jimmy Reed Music, thrift shopping, and collecting magnets. She was a Fort Cobb Mustang fan and was honored by them numerous times.

Ian "Tsa-O" Taylor, Fort Cobb, OK
7 Great Grandchildren: Karsyn, Daxon, Tynsley, Isabelle, Valen, Kyesyn, & Jacoby.
Adopted Sons: Rene Martinez & Victor Davis
She also had grands & greats: Mandell Tye Littlelight, Deluca & Baker Goombi,
Hastiin Kane Tsoodle nells, & Asher Popetsaitke.

Preceded in death by her son: Chebon Koomsa, grandson: Warren Kane Bointy, her parents, 5 sisters: Angeline Wetselline, Lois Koomsa Gayton, Nannie Belle Koomsa, Peggy Ann Maynahonah, and Martha Koomsa Perez, and brother William Koomsa Jr.
