Warren O. Kiser

February 24, 1924 — March 20, 2016

Warren O. (Bud) Kiser, 92, the middle son of John and Mae (Adkins) Kiser was born February 24, 1924 at their farm house near Delphos, Kansas. He passed into the arms of the Lord on March 20th, 2016 at the Lawton-Ft. Sill Veterans Center.

His youth was spent growing up with his two brothers on the family farm near Delphos until he enlisted, at the age of 19 in the U.S. Army in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945 as a Tech 5 where he fought with the 44th Tank Battalion in World War II. He received numerous decorations and citations during his military service.

Upon returning home from the service, he married his wife of 61 years, Rose Dorine Wilkins, on October 27,1946 at Salina, Kansas. He was a dedicated husband and father to their four children: Cheri, Deborah, Michael, and Melanie.

He started working for the Natural Gas Pipeline in May 1951 beginning his employment in Glasco, Kansas then to Miami, Texas ending in Mountain View, Oklahoma where a new plant was opened. He retired after in March 1986 after a long career of 35 years.

Bud was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mountain View, as well as a member of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge. He and Rose served as Class parents for the Mountain View senior class of 1970. He was an active participant in sports through his youth and into his adult years but he enjoyed bowling the most. After moving to the VA center, he became an active team player of WII(wee) bowling and shuffle board.

Survivors include his daughters: Cheri Phipps of Edmond, OK; Deborah and Leon Copus of Mountain View, OK; Melanie and Wayne Plymesser of Thompson Station, TN; and son Michael and Fran Kiser of Burns Flat, OK. Eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild due in July.

Warren (Bud) was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife Rose, two brothers: Harold Kiser and Corliss Kiser, son-in-law Joe D. Phipps, grandson Mark Wesley Kiser, and great-grandson Colton Joseph Schneider.

A private family graveside burial will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016, in Mountain View Cemetery. A memorial honoring Warren's (Bud's) life will be at the Lawton-Ft. Sill Veterans Center at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 25, 2016, with Chaplin Mike Shklar officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to Mt. View Senior Citizens Center or Lawton Ft. Sill Veterans Center.
