Wanda Jo Lane

February 10, 1929 — May 22, 2016

Wanda Jo Lane was born February 10, 1929 to Reo and Athie Bond near Eakly, Oklahoma and passed away May 22, 2016 in Texas City, Texas.

She married James W. Lane on March 6,1 947 in Wheeler, Texas. They lived in Dallas most of their lives, spending many weekends at their cabin on Lake Texoma where they eventually retired.

Wanda was always busy; she loved gardening, also,she was also a wonderful cook, especially desserts! In her younger days she was a swimmer with a group who did synchronized swimming. For many of her lst years she was a Greeter at Wal Mart...she always had a story to tell about her day. She truly enjoyed her job there.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her father Reo Bond on October 22, 1973 and her mother Athie Osborne December 10, 1943... Her husband James W. Lane April 8, 1985 as well as a very special friend who was she with for many years, J. Dennis...

She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Rema and Henry Roland of Carnegie, Oklahoma. One daughter, Treva Douglas, of Kemah, Texas. Two granddaughters; Cara Stepanik and husband Jason, of The Woodlands, Texas, Kayla Mick and husband Greg of Louisville, Texas. She had four great grandchildren; Bria Mick of Denton, Texas. Lauren Stepanik, of the Woodlands, Texas.

She is also survived by one nepew, David Roland and wife Toni, of Carnegie, Oklahoma. Two nieces: Judy Clinton of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Carla Hawkins and husband Phil of Wichita Falls, Texas, Two great-nieces: Melissa Hawkins Leite and husband Max, of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Amy Clinton Leck and husband Kris, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Five great-nephews: John Roland and wife Jennifer, of Carnegie, Oklahoma, Jeff Roland, Jesse Roland, and Jason Clinton, all of Carnegie, Oklahoma, Matt Hawkins and his wife Jayme, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. One great-great-niece, Abigail Hawkins, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Four great-great-nephews; Lucas and Nicholas Leite of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Cale Leck of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and Alexander Hawkins of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home in Carnegie, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at the Eakly Cemetery in Eakly, Oklahoma. Officiating at the serve will be Rev. Larry Chapman.
