Wanda D. Gelnar of Mangum, Oklahoma passed away on January 3, 2020 in Mangum, Oklahoma. Darlene was born January 22, 1942 to Raymond W Splawn and Esta I (Ware) Splawn in Mangum, Oklahoma. She graduated from Centralvue High School in 1960. She married Edward R. Gelnar on February 4, 1961 in Mangum, Oklahoma. She worked at Greer Downs, Dr. James MacRobert's dental office, Medical Center Pharmacy, Bratton Drug, and the Greer County Election Board until 2004 upon retirement. She was also the Secretary for the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years. She was also known for being a wonderful seamstress. She did alterations for many people, sewed dresses for weddings and was awarded multiple times at a local, county, and state level for her exceptional sewing. She also had a love for photography and baking. She as a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mangum. She enjoyed camping, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She attended countless football, basketball, and baseball games and all other activities her grandchildren and great grandchildren were involved in.
Darlene is preceded in death by her husband Ed, her parents, a sister Kaye Strain, and a great grandson Kole David Gelnar.
She is survived by one son Junior Gelnar and wife Susan of Mangum, one daughter Stephanie Yocham and husband Calvin of Mangum; grandchildren: Wesley Gelnar and wife Ashley of Mangum, Jacob Gelnar and wife MaKenna of Mangum, Brandie Wilson and husband T.J. of Lone Wolf, Tennessee Yocham of Blair, Teri Yocham and fiance Ross Lard of Newcastle, Tyler Yocham of Blair, and Amber Harrison of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by great grandchildren: Kash, Kross, McKinleigh, Bentlee, Taytum, D.J., Gracie, Doven, Tinzlynn, Avery, Paxton, Asher, Triston, Ryan, and Colton.
