Obituary
Walter Dale Stockton, 78, of Anadarko, was born in Lookeba on October 19, 1935 to Bertha Helen (Hotz) Stockton and Olen Morris Stockton. He passed from this life on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
His family moved to Anadarko making their home on Caddo Road. He attended Anadarko Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1954.
On August 22, 1955, he married Ola Jean (Hooten). From their union a daughter, Pamela Jean (Stockton) Spence and a son, Richard Dale Stockton were born.
He loved to play cards, golf, being around people and most of all his family.
He worked for Piggly Wiggly, Wrigely, Humpty and Safeway grocery stores. He and his wife Ola Jean worked for Wag-A-Bag together. In 1978 they opened Step N' Fetchum. He also had a gas distributorship, Stockton Oil Co. He and Ola Jean also farmed with his parents for several years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ola Jean, his great-granddaughter, Faith Jean Mahseet and grand daughter-in-law, Tina (Topaum) Spence.
He is survived by his daughter, Pam Spence and her husband (Butch); his son, Rick Stockton; five grandchildren, Chris Spence, Josh Spence and his wife Abbie, Jenny Sage, Jana Fragua and husband Pierce, and Carey Spence, 13 great-grandchildren, one brother, Olen Stockton, Jr., and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Grace Christian Fellowship with burial to follow in Memory Lane Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 6 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014.
