Wallace James "Jim" Hoelscher Jr.October 5, 1945 - January 16, 2025 Wallace James "Jim" Hoelscher Jr., 79, of Del City, Oklahoma, passed from this life on January 16, 2025. Jim was born on October 5, 1945, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Wallace James Hoelscher and Nettie Marie (Gage) Hoelscher. Jim proudly served his country as an infantryman in the US Army during the Vietnam War, a chapter in his life that deeply shaped his character and sense of duty. He was awarded the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars for his service. He spent many years working at Waukesha Pearce, where he earned the nickname "Thumper." His co-workers fondly recalled how, on numerous occasions, he would stand up while working on engines, accidentally bumping his head against them. He would then grab his head in frustration, often expressing himself with colorful language. Outside of work, Jim's passions were many. He was an avid golfer, often found on the course several times a week, enjoying both the sport and the camaraderie it provided. His love for his dogs was equally well-known; no matter where Jim went, one of his beloved dogs was always by his side. Jim also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and his family has many cherished memories where he passed on his love of the outdoors.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Nettie Hoelscher, and his sisters, Helen Louise (Hoelscher) Campbell and Linda Anne Hoelscher.
He is survived by his sons, Brian Hoelscher and wife Amber, and Craig Hoelscher and wife Lisa; three grandchildren, Trae Hoelscher and wife Loran, Taylor Toulson and husband Andy, and Josh Hoelscher; as well as four great-grandchildren, Lane Hoelscher, Lenox Hoelscher, Jade Toulson, and Drew Toulson. Jim's memory will be cherished by his family and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
