Virginia Lee Yount, 89, of Sentinel, Oklahoma, passed away June 30, 2018. She was born on October 29, 1928 in Delphos, Kansas to Dave and Maud (Bennett) Campbell. Virginia was the 13th child out of 14. She married the love of her life Elmer LeRoy Yount on July 22, 1948 in the Methodist Parsonage in Glasco, Kansas. At a young age, Virginia worked in a cafe and later for a doctor. After marriage, she began having her family. She was a housewife and a precious mother. Virginia was saved as a young mother.
As LeRoy went on construction with NGPL, she and the children moved with him throughout Texas and Oklahoma . They finally settled in Sentinel, Oklahoma. She worked as a cook in the school cafeteria and later began work at the Sentinel Community House with her dear friend Faye Rozell. Virginia never missed sponsoring Sunday Dinner for her family. She hosted every Thanksgiving and Christmas until she turned 80.
Virginia is survived by 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren with one more on the way, 1 sister, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dave and Maud Campbell, 10 sisters, 2 brothers, 1 daughter Rebecca Lynn Yount, parents-in-law Bill & Helen Yount, and a sister-in-law Doris Poindexter.
