Virginia Beth (Hall) Walker passed away peacefully on June 28, 2024 after battling Alzheimer's
disease. Throughout she maintained her kindness, compassion and love of family and dogs.
Virginia embraced her long life, full of family, friends, and wonderful and varied experiences.
Virginia was born November 29, 1935 to Raymond and Marie Hall and grew up in Hollister, OK on
the family farm. After high school she would go on to graduate from Oklahoma A & M (OSU) with a
degree in Home Economics and eventually earn her Masters of Education in Home Economics from
Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
After meeting the love of her life Paul Walker, they would begin their 65 year union and were blessed
with two children, Tony & Cara. Paul's love of rodeo and horses made Virginia into a devoted rodeo
wife, carting 2 kids to various rodeos, keeping everybody fed and out of trouble which was about
impossible. Lifelong friends were made from the rodeo community and memories that will not be
forgotten by the entire family.
Virginia's professional life was well known in Washita County, in her role as the OSU Extension
Home Economist, 4-H agent at times and eventually the OSU Extension County Director. After
retiring from Extension, she filled her days with volunteering on various Boards including Kiwash
Electric, delivering Meals on Wheels and volunteering as a docent at the National Cowboy &
Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Being a docent required extensive education about
the art and exhibitions which she embraced with her usual dedication and attention to detail and
she loved every minute of it. She was a loving and lifelong member of the United Methodist Church
first in Frederick, OK and then Cordell.
Virginia will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her loving husband Paul, her son Tony Walker & grandpup Pickles of Cordell, and
her daughter, Cara Walker and son-in-law Tom Hawkins of Stillwater, OK. Virginia is also survived by
nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond &
Marie Hall, her brothers Joe Bob & CR and her sister Geraldine.
