Virgil Everett Beatty

Virgil Everett Beatty, 79, passed away, April 3, 2017, in Hobart, Oklahoma. He was born on August 17, 1937 to Everett Beatty and Fleva (Powers) Beatty, at home, in Washita County, Oklahoma. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on August 9, 1960 and Honorably discharged on August 8, 1962 upon his discharge he chose to make his home in Hobart. He worked for PSO for 30 years and retired in 1992. Virgil served as Mayor of Hobart during the mid 1990's and was voted the Hobart Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Citizen in 1996. Virgil was an active member of the Washington Street Baptist Church his entire adult life. He also enjoyed collecting antique cars and running his cattle operation. Virgil was a member of the Hobart Lions Club, a Mason and a member of the VFW post 117.

Eleven step-grandchildren; Victoria Giblet and husband Zane, Bess Rose, Hannah McCollom, Ben Smith Chandler Smith and fiance Cole Childers, Andrew Coakley, Deaton Smith, Kallie Coakley, Kassie Coakley, Ella Coakley, Jenna Coakley.
9 great-grandchildren; Kimberly, Alijiah, Michael, Brayden, Chevy Chase, Elizabeth, Madison, Xander, Xariel and Xaiden.
Five step great-grandchildren; Marya Giblet, Alysa Giblet, Lily Giblet, McKinley Giblet, and Logan Rose.
Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his late wife, Glenda Beatty, two brothers, one daughter in law, one grandson, and one great-granddaughter.
