Violet Ida Scanlon, 98, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, in Hobart, Oklahoma. She was born on December 28, 1916, in Moundsville, West Virginia to Homer and Bammie (Longwell) Williamson. Violet moved to Pittsburgh, PA to pack ammunition for WWII, where she met Raymond Scanlon. She married Raymond Scanlon on September 27, 1946, preceding her in death on July 5, 2000. Violet was a hard working woman all her life, being a nursing aide, manicurist, also managing the Housekeeping Dept. at Boca Raton Hotel & Club in Florida for many years. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels in Whitehouse, TX. Violet was very active in the Woman's Auxiliary in Tyler, Texas. Violet married Joseph Hopper on December 20, 2008 in Rocky, Oklahoma. In 2012, Violet and Joseph made their home in Hobart, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Calvary Life Assembly of God, Hobart, OK
She is survived by her husband Joseph Hopper, of the home,

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Raymond Scanlon, daughter Veronica Jane Smith, eight siblings Russell, George, Corbert, Dean, Franklin, Arthur, Helen, Evelyn
