Viola Fern Brown

Funeral service for Fern Brown, 95, of Gracemont, Oklahoma will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Gracemont, Oklahoma with Bro. Joe Sanders officiating.

Mrs. Brown was born November 9, 1921 at Binger, Oklahoma to Tom and Carrie (Smith) Reeder. She passed away on Saturday, December 24,2016 at the Binger Nursing Home with family by her side.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved playing cards and spent many hours working in the field, canning, cooking, and spoiling her grand-kids. She and Hap were also "class parents" for several years.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Delmer (Hap) Brown; her parents, Tom and Carrie Reeder; her brothers: Cecil, Eacil and Glen Reeder; her sisters: Una Mae Klusmeyer, Ula Faye Martin, Tootsie, Alma and Ethel Reeder.

Mrs. Brown grew up in Binger area and attended Snow White School. She married Delmer (Hap) Brown on November 16, 1948 in Wichita Falls, Texas. The lived and farmed in the Spring Creek/Gracemont community. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Gracemont First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons: Delmer Gene Brown and wife Susie of Gracemont; Larry Clay Brown and wife Angie of Vernon, Texas; Curtis Dale Brown and wife Darlene of Gracemont; Rickey Lynn Brown and wife Janet of Cherokee; Terry Mark Brown and wife Hilda of Los Banos, California. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Roberta Reeder, Irene Reeder and Ruth Mogg; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives; and many loving friends and neighbors.

Viewing for Mrs. Brown will be Monday, December 26, and Tuesday, December 27 from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm at Ray and Martha's Funeral Home in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Burial will be in the Gracemont Cemetery under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Oklahoma Alzheimer Association, 4900 North Portland, Suite 116, Oklahoma City, Ok 73112.
