Vester Lee Autaubo

November 8, 1938 — January 27, 2017

Vester L. Autaubo, 78, of Anadarko, Oklahoma, entered God's Kingdom on January 27, 2017 at Integris Baptist in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 8, 1938. He was the third son of the late Henry and Norma (Ware) Autaubo. He attended Riverside Indian School and Mountain View Public schools. He then attended Okmulgee Tech earning his certification in culinary arts. He was an enrolled member of the Kiowa Tribe. He was baptized in 1950 or 1952 by Rev. Shawngo of Rainy Mountain Kiowa Indian Baptist Church. He rededicated his life March 1985 and attended the Faith Indian Baptist Church of Carnegie, Oklahoma until he moved to Anadarko in 1993 and became a member of Indian Capital Baptist Church. He was a faithful and dedicated servant of God as Sunday School teacher/director, caretaker of church grounds and building until he was called home. Vester and Rose were sponsors for children attending Falls Creek for 32 years where his children, grandchildren, and other children received salvation. He was a unique expression of God's love and shared the Word of God wherever he went. God gifted him with the ability to sing the Kiowa Hymns he learned from his dad. He was a great storyteller and loved to tease and laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. He was married to Claudette Daingkau for 16 years and from this union was born Annette, Janet, Abbie, Tammy, Henry and Lori. He was married to Roberta Kerchee and from this union was born Wendall Ray, Vester Lee, Jr. and Franklin Scott. He was married to Rose Chalepah for 32 years and from this union was born Mary Ella, Ben, Robbie, Neysha, Shana and Morton.
Survivors include his wife, Rose (Chalepah) Autaubo of the home. He was blessed by God with 15 precious jewels, 8 sons (1 adopted) and 8 daughters. His sons are Henry C. Autaubo of Anadarko, Wendall R. Autaubo of Oklahoma City, OK, Vester L. Autaubo Jr. of Lawton, Franklin S. Autaubo of Norman, OK, Ben (Jessica) Autaubo, Robbie Autaubo, and Morton (Devin) Autaubo all of Anadarko, OK and 2 adopted sons, Christopher (Amber) Chalepah of Carnegie, OK, and Shane "Abbs" (Janell) Serawop of Randlett, Utah. His 8 daughters are Annette (Max) Tahhahawah of Chickasha, OK, Janet (Gerald) Haunpo of Carnegie, OK, Abbie (Steve) Cox of Chickasha, OK, Tammy Wadley of Shulter, Lori (Scott) Hockey of Ozark, AR, Mary (Tyler) Serawop of Anadarko, OK, Neysha (Jorge) Varela and Shana (Justin) Manning both of Siloam Springs, AR. He has 48 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren including 5 Aw-day Mahtones who were Suzie Varela, Kylie Autaubo, Elizabeth and Emma Manning and NaTeari Serawop. He had many "adopted" sons and daughters who called him Dad including 2 adopted grandsons, Curtis Hightower and Tedrick Lawrence of Anadarko, OK. Our Dad was truly blessed by God and loved his family who will always cherish his memory and bring him honor by living out the Gospel as he did.
He is survived by his 3 brothers and 2 sisters; Cecil Autaubo of Shawnee, OK, Wendall Autaubo and Marty Autaubo of Hog Creek, OK, Phyllis Kotay of Apache, OK, and Marilyn Autaubo of Mountain View, OK and many special brothers, sisters, relatives and friends. He had 3 special people who were Elmer Cody, Richard and Marcella Ruckman, and Tim Hightower all of Anadarko, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, George C. Autaubo, Fred Autaubo, Larry Autaubo and his sisters Nora Autaubo Livsey and Carol Autaubo Ellsworth.
Wake services will be Wednesday, February 1st 2017 at 6 pm at Indian Capital Baptist Church with Willie Jack Doyeto leading services. His funeral will be Thursday, February 2nd, 2017 at 11 am at Rainy Mountain Baptist Church with Gerald Haunpo leading services.
Vester L. Autaubo services are under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home in Anadarko, Oklahoma.
