Vernon Blehm, 78, Carnegie, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015, in Carnegie, Oklahoma. He was born in Whittier, California to Carl and Sadie (Hill) Blehm on May 2, 1937. He was united in marriage to Genta Swagerty on August 9, 1957, in Carnegie, Oklahoma. To this union , three children were born. Vernon received a Masters in Music. He taught Band at several schools Thomas, Fairview, Liberal, Kansas, and Panhandle State University, also teaching at Carnegie Public School. Vernon moved back to the Carnegie area in 1977, teaching Band until he retired. He farmed after he retired from teaching . Vernon married Anita Faye Jepson on May 20, 2011, in Carnegie, Oklahoma. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carnegie.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Sadie Blehm, first wife Genta Blehm, and one granddaughter Starrla Williams.
Family Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 13, 2015, at Ray & Martha's Funeral Chapel, Carnegie, OK.
