Vera Lee Spradlin was born November 13th, 1933, in Cordell OK, to Hiram B. and Velma Helen (Willis) Mitchell and passed away August 1, 2017, at her home in Clinton, OK, at the age of 83. Vera attended school in Cordell and graduated from Cordell High School. Vera married the love of her life John Spradlin in Dill City, OK, on July 31, 1952. They settled in Dill City and raised their children. Vera was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Dill City. Vera was an amazing cook, just the thought of her Sunday pot roast would make your mouth water. If you needed something mended Vera was your go to gal. If you wanted something made Vera could whip it out with her sewing machine. She had her pilot's license, and soloed with John Kleek. One of her favorite things to do was, have her son Steve pull her across Fort Cobb Lake at the break of dawn. When the water was like a sheet of glass. She could water ski forever.
Vera worked at the Clinton Regional Hospital as a Ward Clerk, in the Business Office and then in Medical Records. When she retired the hospital was Integris Clinton Regional Hospital and she had been there 20 years. Vera was mom and grandma to more than just her children and grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her, and she will be missed.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband John and Grandson Aaron Lance Spradlin in 1998.
Survivors include Daughter: Amy Louise Spradlin Reef and husband William of Weatherford;
Son: Steve John Spradlin of Clinton;
Grandson: Jake Gutermuth and wife Chelle of Clinton;
Great Granddaughter Ali of Clinton;
Granddaughter: Heather Christianson and husband George of Edmond;
Great Grandchildren Nicolas and Briley Christensen of Edmond;
Services for Vera Spradlin are Friday, August 4, 2017, 10:00 AM 1st Baptist Church Arapaho, with Rev. Van Leonard Officiating. Burial to follow at Canute Cemetery, Canute, OK. Services are Under the Direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home Cordell, OK.
