Vera M. "Vee" Hester, 99, a former Hobart resident passed away on Tuesday, October 26th, 2010
in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born on December 30th, 1910 in Emerson, Arkansas to Charles and Nora (Rowe) Barnes. She moved to Hobart, OK in 1927. Vee married Robert Merritt Hester on February 18th, 1930 in Fort Cobb, OK and he preceded her in death on December 25th, 1997. She was a long time active member of the First Christian Church in Hobart. Her passion was her family and she moved to Oklahoma City in 2002 to be closer to them. She has recently been living in the Heritage Assisted Living.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue Edge and husband, Raymond, Oklahoma City, OK
one grandson, Mark Edge, Oklahoma City, OK
three great-grandchildren Emily, Robert and Katie Edge, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Several loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, grandson Robert Ray Edge, two brothers: Sid and Horace Barnes and one sister Helen Hunter.
Vee was a shinning light to all her family and friends and she will be greatly missed.
