Velma "Cotton" Lee Mathis

Velma Lee "Cotton" Mathis, 93, passed away peacefully at Woodland Gardens in Hobart, Oklahoma on March 2, 2023. She was born on January 15, 1930, to James Willard and Lillie (Owens) Muse at the family farm east of Roosevelt in Kiowa County. Cotton spent most of her life in Roosevelt where she fixed hair for 47 years. She loved to fish with her life long friend Ramona Cline at Lake Tom Steed where they were well known. She loved spending time with family, traveling, casinos, and life in general.

In Lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Roosevelt, as they are recovering from busted pipes and water damage. God Bless each of you!
