Van Hall

Van W Hall was born on January 12, 1921, in Cogar, Oklahoma to James and Jewel (Hyden) Hall and passed away in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 95. Van was the fifth of six sons. He attended school in Pioneer and graduated there. Van raised money to attend college by traveling on Route 66 in California to harvest barley and pick fruit. He returned to Oklahoma and attended college at Weatherford, Oklahoma. He joined the Civil Service in 1942 and served in Liverpool, England, repairing airplane engines. In April of 1944, Van joined the Merchant Marines. On June 16, 1944, he married Betty Gregory and they had one daughter, Jan. Van and Betty made their home in Cordell where they raised their daughter. Van owned and operated Hall's Electric for many years. He later owned the first Heating and Air business in Cordell, Hall's Heating and Air, until his retirement. Betty passed on July 6, 2005. On February 29, 2008, Van married Janis Donley. They resided in Cordell for several years and then moved to Edmond, Oklahoma. Van was an Elder at the Northside Church of Christ for around 50 years. Van was an avid fisherman and quail hunter, he loved to be outdoors. He loved to care for his pecan and fruit tree orchard and tend to his garden and yard. Van was a friend to anyone he met and always had a big smile on his face. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Van is survived by wife Janis Donley-Hall of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughter Jan Hanan and husband Russ of Edmond, Oklahoma; grandson Jay Hanan of Glendora, California and great grandchildren Raevan and Korbyn Hanan; granddaughter Rae Boswell and husband Jeremy and great grandchildren Macy, Jarett, and Case Van Boswell of Edmond, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law Nell Cox and Pat Moore of Cordell, Oklahoma, Mary Pope of Abeline, Texas; brother-in-law George Redwine and wife Winnie of Edmond, Oklahoma and many precious nieces and nephews.

Van is preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty Hall; brothers Carl Hall; Rupert Hall; Walter Hall; Fred Hall; Bill Hall; Brothers in law RD King and wife Billie; Jack Cox and Kyle Moore.

Northside Church of Christ, Cordell, OK.
Officiating: Ken Jones
Interment: Lawnview Cemetery, Cordell, OK
