Valerie (Wooster) Thornton
Valerie Yvonne Thornton of Anadarko was born June 09, 1970, in Lawton to Murrell and Sally (Toho) Wooster, she was the fourth of seven children born to this union. She was 50 years old when she passed away on October 28, 2020, in Anadarko, after a brief illness.
Valerie loved spending time with her mother, she was one of her caretakers, they would go riding around just to see the sites and the home place around the Lookeba and Binger areas. She loved spending time with all of her loved ones, writing in her daily journal, watching the OKC Thunder and OU football. She liked to watch the old television shows that had good clean fun. She was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness and attended the Anadarko/Chickasha congregation. She loved Jehovah and had hope in the resurrection.
Valerie grew up in the Lookeba area and graduated from Lookeba-Sickles High School in 1988. She attended the Vocational Technology Center in Fort Cobb, for her Food Service certification along with her three sisters. She worked at the Binger Nursing Home as a nurse's aide for 15 years. Due to this profession she had to claim disability though she would rather have worked. She was a very hard worker in all that she did. While there she met her husband Galen Thornton, he preceded her in death.
Although she had no children of her own, she treated all of her nieces, nephews and their children as her own and loved them very much.
Valerie is survived by her mother, Sally Wooster of Anadarko; two brothers, Steven Wooster and wife Christina of Binger, Terrell Wooster of Anadarko; two sisters, Shelley Wooster of Lawton and Gina Smith and husband Dwayne of Anadarko; nieces, Sarah, Felicia, Tara, Tamarah, Marissa and Elizabeth; nephews, Daniel, Kenny, Zachary and Odell Jr.; an aunt, Mary Toho of Binger; an uncle, Neil Wooster of Lookeba; and many grandchildren, cousins, relatives and Friends.
