Ul Smith

April 7, 1920 — October 9, 2016

UL Smith, 96, of Dill City, OK left this earthly life on Sunday, October 9, 2016. UL was born in Hollis, Ok on April 7, 1920. He attended school at Bitter Creek and Dill City, OK. He married the love of his life Ladonia Teel on December 21, 1945. They shared their life together for 70 happy years. He and Ladonia spent the next 37 years farming south of Sentinel and raising their three children. He was drafted into the Army in 1941. He was a Pearl Harbor Survivor and served in the South Pacific theater, but most importantly, he was a soldier for Christ. His love for the Church and its members was strong. He served as elder at the Plains Avenue Church of Christ in Dill City. He preached many years and preached his last sermon when he was 90 years of age and quoted scripture from memory. His legacy and influence can be found with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and the lives they lead for Christ.
