Tracye Lewann Kelly was born on April 20, 1960 at Saint Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. Her proud parents were Lewis Lafayette and Anna Leona (Williams) Kelly. Tracye passed away in Midwest City Hospital on September 30, 2022 with friends and family surrounding her in love. Tracye is singing with the angels and is healed from head to toe.
Tracye graduated from Carnegie High School in 1978. She was voted "Most Courteous" by her Senior Class. She then graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's of Science Degree. Then it was time to go out into the real world. She moved to Cordell and worked at the hospital there. She then moved back to Weatherford and went to work with J & C Enterprises Aviation as a receptionist for 7 years. Her telephone skills and reception skills were exceptional. Her next job was NTS in Weatherford. She was a receptionist for over 10 years with NTS. Tracye worked at the Stafford Air & Space Museum for a little over a year. She then went to work for Pharmcare in Hydro for over 5 years where she was a Pharmacy Tech.
Tracye believed in giving back to her community. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Weatherford and sang in the Choir. Tracye helped with the Heartland Cruise for over 24 years. She was a long-time active member of the Lions Club in Weatherford and the Red Hat Society in Weatherford. She held the office of Secretary/ Treasurer and President during the 20 plus years that she was in Lions Club. Tracye participated in the Relay for Life every year. She was very proud of the fact that she was a cancer survivor.
Tracye's greatest joy came from her involvement with the Southwest Playhouse in Clinton. She was a season ticket holder and had served a term on the Board of Directors for the Playhouse during the last 20 plus years. She loved the musicals that the playhouse produced. Her first musical to have a part in was "The Music Man". That was just the beginning. We counted over 15 musicals that Tracye was a part of. She loved singing. And she loved the feeling of family from the cast of each one of the plays.
Tracye never married or had children but a very special family shared their children with her, "The Schoenecke's". Their three children (Daniel, Andrew, & Jessica) were the apple of Tracye's eye. While the Schonecke's lived in Weatherford, Tracye would babysit for the children. Tracye was like their adopted aunt. She stayed in close contact with the family even after they moved away. She didn't miss a graduation or wedding. Tracye recently went to Jessica's pinning from Nursing School. She was so proud of Jessica. And the Schoenecke's are a very special family to share their children with Tracye.
Tracye is survived by her first cousin: Jay Roy Tidmore and wife, Carolyn, from Fort Worth, Texas and 2nd cousins: Kelly Williams and husband, Orval and P. K. Hurt and wife, Natalie, from Carnegie and Mark Tidmore from Fort Worth, TX on her dad's side of the family.
