Tommy Dean (Tom) Moore, 81, of Anadarko, was born March 16, 1933, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, to Thomas Augusta and Emma Mae (Wood) Moore. He passed from this life on Friday, November 21, 2014, at the Physicians Hospital in Anadarko.
Tom grew up in Cherokee and graduated from Cherokee High School where he played every sport and was an All-State quarterback. After high school he joined the army and served 2 years, stationed in Fort Louis, Washington.
In 1958, Tom married Joyce Kiser and together they raised two boys, Dana Lee (Butch) Moore and Terral Gene (Terry) Moore.
Tom worked in construction before going to work at Western Farmers Electric Cooperative, where he worked for almost 40 years. During that time he started his own business, Tom Moore Electric in downtown Anadarko.
In 1976, Tom married Janey Louise Repp and they had 38 happy years together.
Tom was an avid golfer and served for many years on the board of the Dietrich Memorial Golf and Country Club. He was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church where he served on the Mission Committee. He very much enjoyed cooking for benefits and at the soup kitchen. He loved being able to help people and performed many random acts of kindness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, J.W., sisters, Alice Dubbs, Robbie Connor, and Wilma Smith and step-son, Terry Michael Ratliff, whom he loved very much.
Tom is survived by his wife, Janey of Anadarko; two sons, Butch Moore of Yukon and Terry Moore of Anadarko; three grandchildren, Sierra Moore of Anadarko, Ryan Moore and Autumn Moore of Yukon; two great grandchildren, Aunestie Moore and Aubrielle Moore of Yukon; two sisters, Lula May Macia of Clovis, California and Emma Louise Barker of Manning, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Nancy Beavin and husband, Jerry of Corpus Christi, Texas; one brother-in-law, Bobby Repp and wife, Debbie of Fort Cobb; numerous nieces and nephews including John Repp and wife, Jenny of Noble and great niece Baileigh Repp.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 2 P.M. in the 1st United Methodist Church in Anadarko. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home. Condolences may be left for the family at
