Tommy Eugene "Gene" Burns went to his heavenly home on May 20 ,2016 in Anadarko.

Gene was born on July 20, 1931 in Anadarko to James and Henry Etta (Collier). He was raised in the Anadarko area. He was an Cheyenne & Arapaho descendent. He loved to travel to Florida, Texas and California to visit family and friends. He always had a smile on his face, he never met a stranger. Gene was a Godly man who Love the Lord. He was a member of the Cedar Hills Church of God where he served as an usher. He loved to sing at Church every chance he could. He read and studied his Bible everyday. His granddaughter, Renora attended church with him every Sunday. She was very special to Gene. He also like to attend powwows where he watch his granddaughter, Renora dance. He loved to fish, hunt and work in the garden. He would fish and whatever he caught he would fillet and give away to people. He will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by his daughter: Genevieve Burns of Anadarko; two adopted daughters: Leah Park of Moore, OK and Donella Tramell of Florida; grandchildren: Joshua, Renora and Bryon; one sister: Norma Lee Henderson of Lawton, OK; one nephew: Tommy Kopepsah and wife Pat of Anadarko; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He preceded in death by his parents: James and Henry Etta Burns; brother: Haskell Burns; sisters: Effie Kelly, Lois Gillispie, and Ula Tramell; grandparents.
