Thomas Kaulaity, 74, passed away January 30, 2019 at his home in Anadarko, Oklahoma with his family by his side. He was born September 22, 1944 to Alice (Ware) and Henry A. Kaulaity and was raised in the Zole-tone Community south of Carnegie, Oklahoma.
He was a proud member of the Kiowa Tribe and the Kiowa Chapter Native American Church. Tom graduated from Carnegie High School, class of 1963. He excelled in football, basketball, baseball and track. Following his graduation, Tom served two years in the U.S. Army, then four years in the USMC which included one year of combat duty in Vietnam.
He married Karen Redbird on June 22, 1972 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They made their home in Anadarko, Oklahoma where he retired from Riverside Indian School. He served on the Kiowa Business Committee until declining health resulted in his resignation.
Tom will be remembered by many for his fun, loving teasing ways. It was his way of showing how he loved and cared for family and friends.
He was an avid OU football and OKC Thunder basketball fan. He loved playing handgame across the plains and was a proud member of the Dirty Shame Handgame Team.

14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren
Preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Thomas Jr. and Ronald Kaulaity, brothers, William Witt, Lewis, Robert, Bill, Manfred, Norman and Thurman Kaulaity and sisters, Anna and Leda Mae Kaulaity.
