Thomas A. Gomez, 59, of Carnegie, OK passed away Sunday May 22, 2011 at his home in Carnegie, OK. He was born September 13th, 1951 to Gene C. and Famie (Vasquez) Gomez in Anadarko, OK. He was raised in Anadarko where at a young age he became a newspaper boy for the Anadarko Daily News. He attended school at Anadarko Warriors where he ran track and played baseball, which were his favorite two sports that he loved. At the age of seventeen Thomas joined the U.S. Army. He was proudly a soldier in the 1st. Cavalry Infantry division, where he was apart of the PhuLoi Republic of Vietnam War. He was a sharp shooter as well as a Teletype Operator. Thomas was honorably discharged October 30, 1972 as a Sargent, and lived in Arizona a short time. After being discharged he made his way home, and was employed at Hollytex. He met and married Rosalie Jones whom he adored. They both worked in Anadarko for a short time, before they and Rosalie's three children moved to Shawnee, OK where he was employed at Shawnee Feed Mill for three years. He was also a supervisor. In 1987 they moved to Carnegie where he delivered the Anadarko Daily News. He was also employed at Beauty Craft Factory for four years. He also worked at the CO-OP Cotton Gin for fifteen years as a Press Operator. Thomas met and made many friends while working at the Cotton Gin. He would also do seasonal jobs as well. Thomas finally had to stop working to concentrate on his health, which was beginning to decline. He loved listening to the Beatles. Thomas never had a conversation that didn't include one of his favorite teams or his beloved wife and grandchildren, Ariel, Elijah and Timothy. Thomas was a dedicated dad, husband and "papa".
