Thelma Olene Davis

Olene Davis, 78, of Roosevelt, passed away on Saturday, December 29th, 2012, in Hobart, OK. She was born April 14th, 1934 in Oklahoma City, OK, to Olan E. and Thelma Mae (Meek) Reid. Olene was raised at Saddle Mountain and lived in Kiowa County all her life. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and married Nelson Davis on June 25, 1953 in Roosevelt. She was acting Postmaster at Roosevelt for many years, then Postmaster at Reed, OK and then Postmaster at Mountain Park until her retirement on June 1, 2000. She spent 35 years with the U. S. Postal Department. She was a member of the Church of Christ and Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband, Nelson Davis of the home
two sons: Nelson Reid Davis and wife Cherrel, Hobart, OK
Bradley Keith Davis and wife Mallory, Roosevelt, OK
one daughter: Suzanne Bonham and husband Keith, Tipton, OK

seven grandchildren: Justin Bonham, Brant Bonham, Adam Davis, Leslea Tacker, Dierra Heglin, Chanan Davis, and Bryson Davis.

and eleven great-grandchildren

Olene was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Burial to follow in the Green Valley Cemetery, Cooperton, OK, under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart, OK.
