Terry M. Hobbs

Terry Hobbs, 78 of Anadarko was born November 26, 1935 at the family farm northwest of Anadarko. He died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at his home in Anadarko.

Terry attended school at Washita, OK through the 10th grade and finished his high school education at Gracemont, OK where he met his wife, Barbara Hollenbeck. They married on March 13, 1954 and recently observed their 60th wedding anniversary.

Terry and Barbara lived and worked on the family farm until August 18, 2007 when they moved into Anadarko.

In the last few years on the farm he and his brother Ronnie spent many hours together going to auctions purchasing old tractors to repair and restore. They also built small scale replicas of many of them which can be seen in many yards around the community. He came to be known as the tractor man or the go to guy if you had a tractor question .

Terry served many years as an elder in the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Preceding him in death were his parents, William Shirley Hobbs Sr and Emma Mable Hobbs, five brothers, T.J., William Shirley Jr, Don, Wesley, Roy and two sisters Maxine Powell and Viola Hickman. Also preceding him in death was one son, Randy Alan Hobbs of Bakersfield, CA and one granddaughter, Gina Boswell of Anadarko.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara, one daughter, Pattie Dennis and her husband Tim of rural Anadarko, three sons, Brian and his wife Laura of Anadarko, Lorne of Denver, CO and Glen and his wife Nicole also of Denver, CO, one daughter-in-law Mary of Bakersfield, CA; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; one brother Ronnie and his wife Sue of Anadarko; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Memory Lane Cemetery with Elder Edward Buchanan,officiating.
