T. J. Finley

Funeral Services for T. J. Finley, 89 of Branson, Missouri and a former Rocky and Cordell area resident, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Hollister Church of Christ with Gary Bodine and David Hamlin officiating. Graveside will be 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Strickland Cemetery in Cordell, Oklahoma. He died July 30, 2013 at his home in Branson, Mo.
T.J. was born on March 14, 1924, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, the son of Thomas Jackson and Vada (King) Finley. He had been a minister in the Church of Christ since 1946 until this year. He had been Branson, Missouri area for the past 20 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of Christ. T.J. was united in marriage to Gwendolyne Williams Finley on November 18, 1944 in Stillwater, Oklahoma and to this union was born four children.
Survivors are his wife Gwendolyne Finley of the home. Three children; Jerial Finley of Branson, Missouri, Donna Jefferies of Belle Plaine, Kansas and Debbie Vinson of Rockfield, Kentucky. One brother, Wade Finley of Tulsa, Oklahoma, four sisters, Maxine Skocdopole of Plano, Texas, Muriel Arlt of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kitty Ann Rose of Greenville, Texas and Joyce Foster of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Eight grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Baby Finley.
