Spencer "Heavy" Miles Tsalote was born December 1, 1934 to Mr. James Tsalote, Pvt U.S. Army and Mrs. Iva (Daingkau) Tsalote. Spencer was a full blooded member of the Kiowa Tribe. He was the youngest of four children; the only brother to Imogene Tsalote, Lillian Tsalote and Hazel (Tsalote) Musick and his oldest half-sister, Lucille (Tsalote) Aitson.
Spencer lived in Chicago, Dallas and later in life was a longtime resident of Fort Cobb, OK
He worked his whole life and was an employee for Frito Lay, Inc while in Dallas, Texas.
Spencer married Wanda (Whitefox) Tsalote; they had one son, Miles Tsalote.
Spencer later married Etheline (Tofpi) Tsalote.
A quiet reserved man, Spencer enjoyed his time where ever he was. His relatives often joked
about him being the "Mayor" and/or "Sheriff" of Fort Cobb. In his recent years he could always be found atthe Kiowa Tribe AOA Center in Carnegie, Oklahoma to share a meal and visit with others.
Spencer walked through the gates of Heaven on June 18, 2014 at 9:40 p.m. surrounded by his family at Comanche Memorial Hospital in Lawton, OK.
Spencer is preceded in death by his only child, Miles Tsalote;
his parents, James Tsalote and Iva (Daingkau)Tsalote;
his sisters, Imogene Tsalote, Lillian Tsalote, Hazel (Tsalote) Musick
and his half sister, Lucille (Tsalote) Aitson.
He is also preceded in death by his maternal Grandparents, George Washington
"Nahoy" Daingkau and Abbie "Ki-He-To-Baun-Mah" (Tanedooah) Daingkau;
his paternal Grandparents, Tsa-lote and Kau-Ti-Hoodle
and one stepson, John Haury, Jr.
He is survived by his grandsons, Michael Spencer Tsalote, Jeffrey Allen Tsalote and
Daniel Miles Tsalote
his granddaughter, Kelsie Marie Tsalote
his great granddaughter, Lilly Marie Tsalote
his nephew, Marvin Miles Musick and wife, Becky
his grand-nephew, Alex Miles Musick and wife, Mallory
his grand-nieces, Caitlin Michelle Musick and Michala Leanne Musick.
He is also survived by his stepchildren Michelle Emerson, Janice Emerson, Rose Smith
Jeff Davis, Clifton "Strawberry" Tofpi Elizabeth McKinney, Rev. Jan Ticeahkie, Donald Haury, Nancy Talamantes, Lottie
Haury, Herman Haury, Kathy Williams.
He was loved by many and will be missed, including his Daingkau, Tsalote and Aitson family members.
