Shirley Ann Hunn

Shirley Ann Hunn, 75, Hobart, passed away on October 31, 2013, at her home in Hobart, Oklahoma. She was born in Hobart, Oklahoma, on August 19, 1938 to William "Bill" and Eva Edna (Brown) Branam. Shirley's family were pioneers to this area and farmed land east of Hobart on the Ozark Trail. After attending the first two years of elementary school in Gotebo, she was transferred to the Hobart district. She graduated from Hobart High School in 1956. She worked for Southwestern Bell in Hobart during her high school years and after graduation worked for Southwestern Bell in Norman. She married Donald O'Niels Thur on July 11, 1957, in Lone Wolf and he preceded her in death in 2000. After her husband's death, Shirley moved back to Hobart. She was the bookkeeper for her brother's business, Melton's Janitorial supply. She was a member of the Lutheran faith. Shirley was an active member of the Hobart 50's Reunion Association and was the secretary-treasurer for the group from 2001 until 2010. She was a member of the Beta Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and held offices in that sorority, Shirley was also a charter member of Hobart's Red Hat Society. On October 31, 2008, Shirley married Jacob Hunn in Vernon, Texas and made her home in Hobart, Oklahoma, where she helped him with his business.

She is survived by her husband Jake, of the home
two daughters: Charlotte Giddens and husband Donald, Hobart,
LaDonna Thur, McKinney, Texas
one son, Brian Thur, Connersville Indiana
two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
one sister, Barbara Williams and husband Roger, Tulsa, Oklahoma
two brothers: Wayne Branam and wife Fran, Hobart, OK
Gary Branam and wife Charlotte, Lone Wolf, OK
two step-children, Jay Hunn and wife Kathy, Eufala, Oklahoma
Lana Branch and husband Chris, Kansas
numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren
and a host of nieces and nephews
and her beloved kitty cat Bobbie Sue

Family will greet friends at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 pm., Friday, November 1, 2013

Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013
Ray & Martha's Funeral Chapel, Hobart
Officiating: Rev. Alvin Funkhouser

Burial will be follow at the Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, OK, under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart.
