Sherrill Jean Morris

Sherrill Jean Morris, 83, of Cordell, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on August 29th, 2018. She was born on May 20th, 1935 to Lewis and Opal (Vanderpool) Clevenger in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Sherrill grew up and attended school in Cordell, Oklahoma graduating high school in 1953. Sherrill married her high school sweetheart, Charley Morris on July 25, 1954. Sherrill continued her education at OCU college and worked at the Oklahoma Tax Commission. She then returned to Cordell and worked at Jack Roan Chevrolet for 14 years before beginning work for Lola Hurley at Hurley, Brayfield and Gregg Accounting, where she worked for a number of years. She then purchased the business with Barry Maddox and Leon Gregg, while she attained her Enrolled Agent's License for the IRS. Sherrill worked for over forty years and retired in December of 2005. Sherrill loved being part of the Main Street Program for the restoration of Cordell. She loved her family, butterflies, her special friends and she loved to paint. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
