Sharon Gayle Alexander was born September 15, 1943 in Walters, Oklahoma to John and Marie Alexander. She graduated from Hobart High School in 1960. She attended Hills Business College and married Don W. Real on October 6, 1962. She gave birth to a daughter, Amy, on June 14, 1967. Her husband, daughter, granddaughter and a great granddaughter survive her. Her parents and one grandson precede her in death. Gayle passed on September 4, 2011at her home.
Gayle learned many of the skills that served her so well in life from her work experiences as an "executive secretary" for many dynamic organizations during the early part of her career. Her "high energy level" with a definite penchant for detail made her a natural for everything from battling a credit card company over an interest rate to organizing and executing a business plan for the establishment of a new headquarter, as she did with the Oklahoma Cattleman's Association.
The "true" love of her life was her daughter, Amy. Gayle's love for Amy was overwhelming and there was no sacrifice too great if the sacrifice resulted in a better life for Amy. The loss of Amy's son, Bryan, was a devastating loss to Gayle and one that she was never able to overcome.
Gayle should not be remembered for the final few years of her life that were filled with disappointment: Gayle should be remembered for all the years in which she provided the love, as well as the moral and Christian leadership in her home. The only thing greater than her energy, was her love of God and Family.
