Sammie Lee Malone, 89. was born September 9, 1932 in Mena, Arkansas to Will and Lizzie Malone. He went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2021 at Weatherwood Assisted Living in Weatherford Oklahoma.
Sam married Sandra Huggins on August 10, 1958.
Sam served in the US Army for over 8 years including time serving in Korea during the Korean War. After his time in the service he worked road construction after discharging from the Army. Sam opened Sam's Oil Company in Hobart Oklahoma on October 15, 1966. It was a full-service station for many years before transitioning to fuel sales and diesel delivery only. In June of 2018, after almost 52 years of service, Sam decided to close and retire.
Sam served on the Hobart School Board for 7 1/2 years.
He is survived by daughter Dianna Malone Weems and husband Kent of Kingfisher Oklahoma; son Sam Malone and wife Dalena of Morris Oklahoma; grandchildren Melissa Weems Calamateo and husband Javier of Kingfisher; Ryan Weems and wife Brittany of Yukon; Whitney Weems Mathes and husband Richard of Kingfisher; Travis Malone and wife Ashley of Morris; Jaimee Malone Andresen and husband Eric of Grapevine Texas; Matthew Malone and wife Kristen of Irving Texas. Great grandchildren Brett, Brady, and Bennett Calamateo; Avery Weems, Weston Holland, and Beckham Weems; Aria and Ellie Mathes; Avarie and Holdyn Malone; and Nora Andresen; sister Geraldine Morelock of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Will and Lizzie Malone, his wife Sandra Malone, and
nine siblings.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Rose Cemetery in Hobart Oklahoma.
