Roy "Happy" Groth, 90, Cooperton, passed away on October 18, 2013, in Altus, Ok. He was born in Cooperton, Ok to Henry and Myrtle (Reed) Groth on January 24, 1923. Roy was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army. He fought in Battle of the Bulge and was a paratrooper. He was a carpenter for many years and worked for Alamo Construction (Allen Moore). He also was a farmer for many years before retirement.
He is survived by one son: Donald Groth, of the home
one daughter: Janie Hatch and husband Roger, Amber, OK
one granddaughter: Tammy Lynn Busby and husband Timothy, Hineston, LA
two great grandchildren: Ellis Cole Busby and Abigail Jane Busby
one sister-in-law: Lena Rutledge Harris and husband James, Hobart, OK
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Myrtle Groth, his wife Hazel (1984), three brothers Eddie, John, and Omer, and one sister Catherine.
