Rowena Pewenofkit was born on July 8th, 1962 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Burnett Pewenofkit Sr. and Mary Lucille Daugomah. Rowena passed from this life on November 22, 2022. She graduated from Riverside Indian School in 1980. Rowena then got an associates degree from OSU-OKC in sociology in 2001 and then finished her studies by earning a bachelors degree in sociology from UCO in 2003. Rowena was a member of the Kiowa tribe and active at Angie Smith United Methodist church.
Rowena was a devoted and loving caregiver for her family. She loved OU football, KC and the Sunshine Band and Earth, Wind & Fire. You could often find Rowena playing games at the casinos or watching true crime and TLC reality shows. Rowena took pleasure in decorating for the holidays and organizing family gatherings. Rowena was sorely missed by her family on Thanksgiving this year.
