Rosa Harrison, 86, Hobart, Oklahoma passed away, Friday, January 21st, 2011 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born January 11,1925 at Babbs, Oklahoma to Mathew Thomas and Amelia ( Helwer) Braun.
Rosa has lived in Hobart most of her life. She graduated from Hobart High School, 1942 and went on to attain her registered nursing degree from St. Anthony School of Nursing .Rosa married J. C. Harrison, October 23, 1948 in Vernon, TX and he preceded her in death July 21, 1990. She worked at the General Hospital and at the new Elkview General Hospital at Hobart, Oklahoma as well as nursing at the Kiowa County Health Department. She administered the first polio vaccine shot given in Kiowa County. Rosa then worked at the Department of Human Services for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and also served on the board for Search Light.

Karen Farris and her husband, Houston, Yukon, OK
Two sons: Ted Harrison and wife, Maxine, Hobart, OK
John Harrison and wife, Mona, Sherman, TX
Five Grandchildren: Leon Ragland, Shelly Ruffner, April Clement, Natalie Roberts, and John Max Harrison.
Eight great-grandchildren: Brittney and Brandon Ragland, Houston Ruffner, Grace Ruffner, Jackson Clement, Boston Harrison, Abigail Harrison and Madelyn Harrison
Two sisters: Frieda Jones, Cordell, OK and Christine Wax, Altus, OK
One Sister-in-law: Lillie Braun, Hobart, OK
One Brother in law: Alvis Harrison and wife Shirley, Mountain Park, OK
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Mathew and Delbert Braun and her husband, J. C. Harrison.
Family visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2011 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Hobart, OK
Burial will follow in the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Hobart, OK
