Ronald LeRoy Taylor, 84, a longtime Caddo County resident, was born December 28, 1934, in Verden,
Oklahoma, to Roy and Flossie (Sigmon) Taylor. He passed from this life to his eternal life with his
Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at the Binger Nursing Home in Binger, Oklahoma.
Ron attended Verden Elementary School where his mother, Flossie, was a school teacher until the family
moved from the farm near Chickasha Lake to live in Anadarko. He would go on to serve in the United
States Navy. Ron married Donna Jean Renfrow on June 24, 1957, in Anadarko where they raised four
children.
Ron was a butcher and carpenter before serving in his most-loved capacity - law enforcement. He was a
police officer and detective for the Anadarko Police Department and then became a deputy sheriff for
Caddo County. Ron was elected Caddo County Sheriff in 1981. He later served as manager of Ft. Cobb
State Park and Ft. Cobb Police Department chief.
Ron was an ordained preacher and selflessly served others throughout his life. Even in retirement, he
enjoyed mowing yards for those who had trouble doing it on their own. Ron was always available to
counsel those in need and often shared God's plan of salvation with others.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Donna Jean; a brother, Larry Taylor, a sister,
