Ronald Robert Sage

October 7, 1950 — February 27, 2019

Ronald (Ronnie) Robert Sage was born on October 7, 1950 in rural Gracemont, Oklahoma, the son of Burley M. Sage and Goldie M (Edmonds) Sage and passed away on February 27th at the Comanche Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma. Services will be held at the Cowboy Church in Gracemont, on Monday, March 4th at 1:00 pm.

Ronnie attended school at Gracemont, graduating in 1968. He participated in sports and was a member of the Land Judging Team for the 4-H Club.

He started working as a heavy equipment operator and construction right after graduation from high school. His natural ability to operate heavy equipment and fix anything that needed fixing was well known. He married the love of his life Cheryll Oxford also from Gracemont on July 12, 1974. They made their final home in the Anadarko Area where Ronnie retired as a Leakage Survey Technician after 30 years of working for The Oklahoma Natural Gas Company. Together they raised one son Lucas Morgan Sage.

He enjoyed people and lived as a simple man. His intelligence and sense of humor was experienced by his many nieces and nephews at family gatherings and totally enjoyed. He loved the outdoors and was happiest when his hands were busy building or fixing something. He spent many hours in his shop building and had projects going all of the time. He took pride in maintaining a well-kept yard and was always building something or working to improve or add to the landscape.

After his retirement, when not spending time with their grandkids, Ronnie and Cheryll spent many week-ends traveling and camping with his family. His sisters, Gayle and Janice along with their husbands Mike and Cliff, whom he considered as brothers, traveled together and the wonderful memories they made will be cherished forever.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father and mother, one brother, Alton Morgan Sage and one sister Donnie (Fern) Hardy.

Survivors include his wife Cheryll of the home in Anadarko, son Lucas Morgan Sage and his wife Shara of Anadarko. Grandson Ollie and granddaughter, Katie of Anadarko. Three sisters, Marilyn McDonald of Gracemont; Gayle Dyer and husband Mike of Anadarko; Janice Burris and husband Cliff of Cedar Park, Texas and sister-in-law Kaye Sage of Bethany, OK. Aunt, Anita Smith of Riverside, California. Nieces and nephews: Paula; Sharla; Michael; Tisha; Jason; Robyn; Brandon; Jarrod; Jaymelle and Shelly. Along with many great-nieces and nephews; relatives; friends and co-workers.

Ronnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He leaves us with so many wonderful memories to cherish. His beautiful smile and personality will always be remembered with love.
