Ronald Coleman Poolaw Sr. passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 in Lawton, OK. Ron was born May 28, 1950 in Lawton, OK to Justin Pierce and Lucille Bigbow Poolaw.
Ron attended school in Mountain View, OK and graduated in1968 in California. He attended Bacone College in Muskogee, OK and that is where he met the mother of his children. Ron was a member of the Kiowa Tribe of OK. He worked numerous jobs in the beginning while living in Oklahoma City, OK. He worked in law enforcement serving ten years with Anadarko Police Department; his highest position was Interim Police Chief, then he went on to work for the Bureau of Indian Affairs for ten years and his highest position was Chief of Police before he retired. He was an OU fan and enjoyed going to the games with his son. He also loved the New York Yankees, even though they had rough years.
He was a Tribal Legislator for the Kiowa Tribe for a couple of years and was also a member of the Kiowa Business Committee in 2016. He was a member of the Rainy Mountain Kiowa Indian Baptist Church.
