Rochelle Swift

Rochelle (Standing) Swift, 87, passed away April 5, at home surrounded by her family in Anadarko, OK She was born June 24, 1935, at the home place in Gracemont, OK to Rev. George and Sadie Barnum Ross Standing Tounwin.

Rochelle was one of the last full-blooded Wichita Tribal Elder and bore the last full-blooded child. She attended and graduated from Gracemont School in 1955.
Rochelle met and married Franklin Swift in August 1955 in Caddo County. They were blessed with one son, Clifford. She was a foster parent, member of the Rock Spring Baptist Church, standing memorial Indian Baptist Church. Rochelle taught the Girl's Auxiliary and was youth leader in the church. She loved softball and being a part of the Gospel Singing. Group. Rochelle was proud of her family and loved the gathering that they had.
She is preceded in death by her: husband, Franklin; son, Clifford; daughter, Baby Girl Swift; parents, Rev.
