Roberta W. Pain
1919-2017
Roberta Pain, teacher, artist and homemaker, passed away soon after her 98th birthday on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 6:46 p.m. in her home in Englewood, Colorado. Roberta is survived by her three sons, Larry of Houston, Texas, Bill of Breckenridge, Colorado and David of Pagosa Springs, Colorado as well as five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Prior to moving to Colorado in 2006, Roberta and her beloved husband, Leslie, lived in Anadarko, Oklahoma from 1956 until Leslie's passing in 2005.
The couple met and married in Chickasha, Oklahoma on March 27, 1942.
Individually and as a couple, they were dedicated leaders in First Baptist
Church of Anadarko where they both sang in the church choir for more than 50 years. For more that half her life, Roberta was a P.E.O., a women's philanthropic educational organization. She was also active in Anadarko Philomathic Club, an organization founded in 1889.
In 1941, Roberta was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics from Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She later taught in both the Lawton Public School System and the Anadarko Public School System.
Roberta will be missed by her sons and their wives as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Roberta shall never be forgotten by all who knew her and were touched by her commitment to Christ and her love of life.
