Captain Robert Scott Tompkins 47 of Hobart passed away on April 6th, 2016 at his home in Hobart, OK.
Scott was born on February 5, 1969 to Bobby and Virginia Sue (Parks) Tompkins in Oklahoma City. He lived in Hays, Kansas and Seward, Nebraska before moving to Piedmont, Oklahoma where he graduated from Piedmont High School in 1988. He attended Dallas Theological Seminary where he received a Master's in Theology. Scott loved the Lord, his parents: Bobby Edd and Virginia Sue; his three children: Blake, Cole and Cassie, his fiancé: Tammy Cole-Barnard, her children: Peyton and Abby, his family and Church family. Scott was a Full Time Minister at First Christian Church of Hobart. He also concurrently pastored the Lutheran and Presbyterian Churches in Hobart, Oklahoma. He was a Captain in the US Army Reserve where he served as a Chaplain. He volunteered at Hobart Elementary school and was an announcer at the football games. He was a kind hearted and gentle spirit who never met a stranger. Scott loved the Lord, people and loved to witness to everyone he met. He liked to watch movies and spend time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by many.
