Robert Charles Ferrell, 85, of Hobart, Oklahoma passed away on February 24, 2018. Bob was born October 31, 1932 in Hobart, Oklahoma to the late Claude and Janie Lucas Ferrell. He graduated from Hobart High School in 1950 and from Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University) with a degree in Agricultural Economics in 1954. Bob received commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (Army R.O.T.C.) and served two years of active duty with a year and a half in Wildflecken, Germany.
After his honorable discharge from the army, he and his father operated the Ferrell Firestone store in Hobart. He also was engaged in farming with his father. He was active in the OSU Alumni Association, where he served as treasurer for several years. He was a true OSU fan and loved the Orange and Black.
He was a member of the Hobart Chamber of Commerce and the United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Martha Huffman Ferrell; son Dr. Mark and Brenda Ferrell of McAlester; daughter Lisa and Monte Hepner of Freedom; grandsons Hammons Hepner of Freedom and Matthew Ferrell of McAlester; granddaughter Katie Ferrell of McAlester; sister Claudene Ferrell Mjoseth of Chicago, Illinois; nephew, John Mjoseth of Chicago, Illinois; three nieces, Marcia Semmes of Melbourne Beach, Florida, Jeannine Mjoseth of Melbourne Beach, Florida and Carol Mjoseth of Chicago, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Colonel John Mjoseth of Texas.
