Ricky Twig Settle of Anadarko, OK, left his earthly home on August 2, 2023, in OKC, OK with his wife by his side. He was born on April 16, 1955, in Fort Cobb, OK, to James Marshall and Laura Blanche (Tuttle) Settle.
He was raised east of Anadarko on the family farm. He attended Anadarko Public Schools and graduated in 1973. He attended college at USAO in Chickasha, OK.
After high school, he was employed at Settle Studio, working as a photographer for Manly Settle, his brother. While employed there, he met and married the love of his life Lola Stidham. They were married for 46 wonderful years, spending them at their home east of Anadarko.
Ricky later was employed at the Chickasha Star Newspaper working for Marshall, his brother, and later became the co-owner. He worked at the Caddo County Fairgrounds and then as a teacher assistant for East Grade Elementary.
His many hobbies included photography, flying, scuba diving, boating, carpentry, and computers. As a pilot, he took many family members up for their first airplane flight!
Ricky's latest contribution to the community was to operate the Cedar & Sage Tae Kwon Do School that was founded by Ron Quoetone. He was a 3rd Degree Black Belt and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his students, whom were very special to him.
He was preceded in death by his: parents, James and Laura, his brother Henry Marshall and sister-in-law Frances Settle, and his brother-in-law Ned Gilliand.
He is survived by his: wife of the home; sister Doreen Gilliand of Springfield, TX, brother and sister-in-law Manly and Mary Settle, Louise and Phillip Nunn, Vern and DeAnna Stidham, Neal and Roberta Stidham all of Anadarko, OK; Elizabeth and Keith Rubey of Glenpool, OK; Mary and Earl McBride of Yukon,OK; Maudie and Dale Lyon of Mannford, OK; Leon and Diane Stidham of Broken Arrow, OK; and William Stidham and Linda Minor of Chickasha, OK; and many nieces and nephews who loved and adored him. Ricky left behind many friends and family whose life he touched in a very special way.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with family and friends to remember this special man.
